Product Test – Zipp Transition Bag

In our transition bag comparison the Zipp Gear Bag is a winner all around. For the athlete with the highest standards comes a bag with satisfaction guarantee.

Not only the extremely well though through distribution of specific compartments throughout the bag but also its superb quality, which withstand any bad treatment from our side, turn this bag into our Trinited Top Tip.

Compartments/Pockets: Huge main compartment with 4 smaller inside pockets for wallet, heart rate monitor, passport and much more as well an extra velcro pocket on the inside of the top flap. 4 bottle pockets on the outside, a helmet compartment with security strap on top of the flap, two seperate and ventilated shoe pockets (one on each side of the bag)  for cycling and running shoes (only bag in the test to offer two shoe pockets) and a huge wet clothing and wetsuit compartment on the bottom of the bag.

Comfort: The bag is great to wear as an ordinary sports bag as well as a backpack, thanks to its adjustable shoulder straps which can be hidden in the bottom of the bag. Less cushion and ventilation than some of the ‚real’ backpacks and therefore rather suitet for the sport alone and not walking around town after a race.

Quality: Top quality bag with strong seams and top materials. The gauche pockets for your water bottles are some of th best gauche pockets we have seen.

Summary: Very well though through and superbly manufactured bag with plenty of space for everything you need at a race. Only downside. Clothing gets mixed up on the inside when putting the bag on your back. We would wish for  3 slightly smaller inside compartments rathen than one big one.
